Now, i have drunk more of 30 wines this month and i didn’t review anything … because , i was pretty focused to find out new goals and even because , i started to TASTE also BEERS . Well , i don’t wanna say that before i have never drunk beers but last 4 months i became a lover of this gorgeous products , looking for just the best and skipping the worse , the commercials beers . And , as i say always , JUST WITH KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND HOW TO DRINK WELL ( AND LIVE WELL ) .
I was studying better the french wines , Portuguese wines and some other italians ones but , today, instead to write about the ” wine’s question ” ” , i wanna think about beers .
Why ? Because i love it like wine , like vodka ,like others alcoholic beverages . It doesn’t mean that i am an alcoholic , i am not for sure , but i love to enjoy what the man , with his knowledge , can give to us : happiness to share what the nature and the man can make together .
Well , i wanna start this new topic speaking about an extreme beer that i love , THE MILD ALE . You can find out this one just in UK and not so easy . 2 years ago i attended to a beer course and i was practically focused just on the Stout but at the end the showed us the MILD ALE , in bottle or in cask .
The mild ALE has a low alcohol content , 4,6 % or less( 3,5 % ) , it is one of the less bitter , with sweet toasted notes , chocolate and caramel ,dry fruits sometime honey . They use just mild brown / pale or dark english malt and the english hops is the most indicated .It is also fresh and push you to drink a lot , above all the cask ! Yeah , between the bottle and the cask they change . In the bottle , the beer contains a little bit of bubbles , just for my advise , with less complexity then the cask . Into it ,instead , the beer is really soft , smooth , which combined with his freshness ( even if it is a black beer ) and its amazing flavors , can catch you forever and never let you go ! Just note that i am a lover of chocolate , dark chocolate , and find out a beer like that has been really crazy .
This UK beers , which belong to the ALE type ( high fermentation beers ) are fruity beers fermented at high temperature where the yeast normally never touch the bottom. They prefer to push the malt and hops flavors ( more the malt ) , low alcohol content but really tasty .
Now i am running away from the commercials beers , for example i wrote this article drinking a german lager beer, 5,3% alcohol content …
Good luck .
